It is set on Earth in dimension c-137.
The premisis of the show is that Rick,Morty's Grandfather,and a drunk scientist has returned after travelling through the infinite dimensions.
He then embarks on many adventures with his Grandson to make up for lost time.
These adventures range from smuggling alien drugs through interdimensional ports or recreating the world to having a party whilst time is paused and causing havoc or venturing into the weird and slightly messed up dreams of Morty's maths teacher......
These adventures mean that Morty is always away from school impacting his social life and schooling.
