Weapons

As you could guess, to do well in PUBG, you'll need some sort of weapon, but which ones?
In this section of this guide, I will be going through each type of weapon and what they do. You can only carry 2 main weapons at a time, so you need to think about what weapons you want to bring with you.

Assault Rifles (or ARs) are the most versatile type of weapon in PUBG. The most common one is the SCAR-L. This weapon is great at both short and medium ranges and can take all kinds of attachments, such as a suppressor and vertical grips.

Sniper rifles are great for long range encounters. The one that you will most likely get your hands on is the Kar98K. In order to snipe, you will need a scope (the more powerful the better) and how to zero. Zeroing appears at the bottom of your screen and starts of at 100m. This means if you were to aim at someone 100m away, you would hit them. You can see how far someone is by estimating where they are from the map.

SMGs are very useful, short range weapons. The one you will mostly use is the UMP-9. SMGs are good early game replacements for ARs. However, you should not rely on them as they get out preformed by all of the ARs. SMGs are useful to have as backup weapons, but not anything else.

Shotguns excel at short range, but nothing else. Shotguns are situational and should only be used early game. There is a pump action (S1897), a double barrelled (S686) and the auto-shotgun (S12K). Shotgun wise, it doesn’t matter which one you use, it is just personal preference.

Pistols take up their on equipment slot, meaning you can pick one up without dropping a main weapon. The same goes for melee weapons. Pistols should only be used as a last resort and melee weapons are all the same and give slightly more damage than the fist. However, the pan can also block bullets! Somehow…
